April

I am so far behind!!! I really want to have this blog available for our family and friends to know what we are up to and to pass down to the kids, but it seems like there are always more pressing matters to attend to or I'm too darn tired to sit down and work on this. I actually enjoy blogging, which may be another reason it ends up so far down on my priority list. The things I want to do always seem to end up at the bottom of the list. Ah, to be a mommy! I am going to try and catch up, or at least get closer. We have been very, very busy the past month and I think the kids have enjoyed all the comings and goings with the exception of last weekend where we really just over-scheduled ourselves.

The first weekend in April, my friend Kamie and her 2 kids went with us to the OIL Ranch. The kids LOVED it there, they really had a wonderful time. We all got to ride a train, go on a hayride, feed the cows, play on a pile of hay stacks, see lots of animals, have a picnic lunch, milk a very patient cow, etc. It was a very fun day!

At the petting zoo, Zachary kept kissing all the animals -- eww! Here he is hugging a goat.

Caleb really enjoyed riding the pony, in fact, he rode it twice. This was his favorite thing he did there.

The kids all enjoyed playing on the bouncy houses

Caleb was afraid of milking the cow, so I went with him. I am not sure why I look slightly crazy in this picture.
The cows were Zachary's FAVORITE thing. At pre-school, he really enjoys watching the cows and he was thrilled to get to see some up close and feed them.
Zachary is trying to poke one in the eye.
Caleb really got a kick out of seeing the cows up so close too
The hay ride!
My mom usually picks the boys up from pre-school one day a week and this week she took the boys to pick out some ice cream at the grocery store. Caleb wanted ice cream cones so here are the kids enjoying their ice cream cones.

March 25, we went to pick Strawberries at the King's Orchard. These were the best tasting strawberries I have had in quite a while! We picked 5 pounds and ate them all in 2 days! Zachary really enjoyed them so much, he ate quite a few while we were picking them and ate many as snacks that weekend. We also had strawberry pancakes that were delicious!! :)

The week before Easter we went with our friends to Memorial City Mall to have pictures taken with the Easter Bunny. Caleb and Zachary both had a great time -- neither of them were frightened by EB. We also played at the indoor playground, ate lunch at Subway and rode the carousel.

The 2nd weekend in April the boys and I went to the Bluebonnet Festival in Chappell Hill. It was crowded and expensive but the boys had a good time. I think riding the ponies was their favorite thing.

They also had fun playing in these giant balls in a pool of water. Zachary mainly just sat there enjoying floating and Caleb had fun tumbling and rolling around.

Caleb rode his very first Ferris Wheel! It was a pretty neat Ferris Wheel for little kids and though Caleb looked a little nervous in there, he said he really enjoyed it.

One weekend in April, Heather and the boys went outside to play with all the stuff Zachary got for his birthday. Heather brought her ipod and speakers out there and they all enjoyed playing in the water and listening to music.

Zachary's Birthday

Heather's birthday is tomorrow, so I figured I should hurry and post Zachary's birthday! For Zachary's party this year, we just had a small family party. My parents and Paul's mom and her boyfriend, Doug, came over to help us celebrate.

Heather and my Dad put together Zachary's picnic table and BBQ Grill. Paul was thrilled that they did this so he didn't have to.
Here we all are enjoying some birthday cake.

My son insisted on wearing his bicycle helmet to eat birthday cake. Safety first!

Caleb was jealous of all the attention Zachary was getting and was hiding under the table. Grammy & Grandma both brought him presents too, but he opened them from his safe spot under the table.

Heather bought Zachary this cute little hat for his birthday. Zachary loves hats!
This was our present to the boys and they love it! Zachary got crazy messy, but had a lot of fun.
